In His Own Words: "Kerry would have a strong midfield. Dara O Se's a great fielder of the ball and Donal Daly's a great worker with a great engine on him. I played all the League games and that stood to me. We had a long year and I played Sigerson football with GMIT. It's is as close as you can get to inter-county level, it's great preparation during the winter. It's the longest year I've ever had training and I've found the going tough at times, but you train for the dry sod and the championship. Although I've played on the wing, midfield would be my natural position. Sean O Domhnaill was a massive help to me in all the league games. He helps you out on the field and looks after you. Kildare was one of the toughest games all year - the first half wasn't great but we took a hold in the second half. I don't suffer from nerves that much, maybe there's a few butterflies driving down in the bus to Croker, but once you're in the dressing-room, it's business as usual."

"The first thing you notice about Galway is that they're big men. Both of them are over six foot three and are good high fielders. They're taller than the Kerry midfield and that will help under high balls and kick-outs. I played Sigerson with Joe Bergin and he's come on in leaps and bounds. In the background Kevin Walsh is on the bench pushing for a place. He came on against us and made a big difference. I thought he was very calm, didn't panic and used the ball well. It'll be at the back of Joe's and Sean O Domhnaill's mind that he's there ready to come on. It could prey on their mind. Kerry are probably edge it for skill in this area and are more mobile. If they've a weakness, Galway are a small bit static and don't track back as much as they could.
