France recorded their second victory in the Latin Cup last night when they crushed Romania 39-3 in Lourdes. The French, who beat Italy 30-19 in their first game, were never threatened by Romania.

First-half tries from Philippe Saint-Andre, Franck Tournaire and Olivier Merle put the French firmly in control.

A penalty try and a try from Abdelatif Benazzi rounded off the romp in the second half, with Christophe Lamaison kicking 14 points.

Italy and Argentina fought out an 18-18 draw in the other game.
