ST PATRICK'S, NAVAN 1-13 MOATE CS 1-8
Holders St Patrick's, Navan, survived a stern test from their Westmeath opponents in their quarter-final at Páirc Tailteann last night.
After the sides exchanged points in the early stages, Dessie Dolan's Moate side struck for a goal on seven minutes, with Aaron Farrell firing a low shot to the net.
On level terms
However, Colm O'Rourke's charges did not panic and five different scorers in the first half had them on level terms (0-6 to 1-3) at the break
Pat’s dominated the third quarter, with a Seán Noonan point putting them ahead for the first time and they went on to lead by five.
Moate stormed back to reduce the deficit to the minimum but the Meath lads found a bit extra at the end, with their top scorer Robbie Keelaghan netting their goal in added time.
Cavan referee Conor Dourneen showed black cards to two Pat's players in the second half, Daire Lynch and Conor Nash, on the stroke of full-time, with no time for a replacement.
