John Tubritt was the key man for Fethard as he guided his side to a 3-7 to 0-9 victory over Sarsfields at Wexford Park yesterday afternoon.
A goal in each half from the superb Tubritt ensured they ended their 15-year wait for a final place in emphatic fashion.
Fethard were three points ahead at the interval, 2-3 to 0-6. After Sarsfields through fine points from Jason Murphy, Lee Walker, Paul Murphy and Philip Cullen had stormed into a 0-4 to 0-1 lead inside 13 minutes, Tubritt scored a superb opening goal one minute later.
Garrett Foley added the second in additional time.
Fethard pressed on for victory with points from Chris Colfer and Tubritt before Tubritt finished superbly for his sides third goal.
St. Martin’s qualfied for their first ever senior football final with a comprehensive 0-17 to 2-6 t victory over Shelmaliers.
With some excellent points from Ciaran Lyng, Ciaran Redmond and Jamie Carthy it was St. Martin’s who led 0-9 to 1-4 ahead at the interval. Eoghan Nolan and Brian Malone got the Shelmaliers goals.
