Donegal
goalkeeper
Paul Durcan
says
the door remains open for team-mate and fellow All-Ireland winner Mark McHugh, who left the county panel the week before last.
“The boys made it clear that the door is never closed for anyone. Mark is a huge part of Donegal football the last few years and we have something to do now and that’s beat Derry and we will move on ourselves and try and put that to the back of our heads.
“We all like Mark and it’s a tough decision for him . . training has been going very well . . . in fairness it was a tough call for Mark to make but you have to respect it.”
Durcan was speaking at yesterday’s Newstalk radio launch of their championship coverage in Croke Park.
Galway footballer Michael Meehan and former Mayo and Armagh player Billy Joe Padden will be joining the station's panel of championship analysts this summer.
RTÉ's Sunday Game, which launches for the season this afternoon, will be introducing retired All Stars, former Tipperary hurling goalkeeper Brendan Cummins and Kerry footballer Tomás Ó Sé.
