The IRFU will announce within the next fortnight a deal with kit manufacturers Canterbury. The New Zealand firm will replace current sponsors Nike. A figure of £750,000 was the suggested value of the contract but Planet Rugby can confirm that a figure of £900,000 per annum over five years would be closer to the mark. Canterbury already supply the four Irish provincial teams.
