The top two players in the world will play together Thursday and Friday to highlight the featured groups at the Masters.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are part of a threesome with Xander Schauffele that is scheduled to tee off at 3:42 pm (Irish time) in the first round and 6:48 pm in the second round this week at Augusta National Golf Club.
Scheffler won the green jacket in 2022 and already has two wins this season, including The Players Championship. McIlroy, the four-time major champion, is facing a nearly 10-year major drought and needs only the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam. Schauffele, ranked number five in the world, is among the best players in the sport without a major title.
Playing one group in front of that trio will be defending champion Jon Rahm of Spain, former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick of England and Nick Dunlap, who won The American Express as an amateur in January and turned pro.
