Steffi Graf, sidelined by a long-term injury, is still hungry for more success in tennis, despite a life packed with triumphs. In an interview with a German tennis magazine, the 28-year-old made it clear that, while she was already planning for her retirement, Graf believed her playing days were far from over. "I think there are still a few great tennis moments left for me to enjoy," said Graf in an interview with the monthly Tennis Magazin. "Spectators keep giving me moral support," she added.

Graf, recovering from a knee operation, is expected to appear in a charity exhibition match in November in Baltimore but is not due to return to competitive tennis before next year's Australian Open.

The former world number one, who has dropped to 13th in the WTA rankings, has not played since she was knocked out in the quarter-finals of the French Open by South African Amanda Coetzer on June 3rd.

Graf underwent surgery to correct a problem with a tendon close to her left kneecap in a Vienna hospital on June 10th and then had physiotherapy in an Austrian clinic.

Graf said she was already thinking about life after tennis and planned to share her time between her homes in Germany and the United States.

"I'll be all right when I don't play tennis any more because tennis is no longer the most important thing in my life," she said.
