The Irish 1,000 Guineas and Irish 2,000 Guineas weekend will be known as the "Entenmann's Guineas festival weekend" for the next three years.

The Curragh racecourse announced the deal yesterday after negotiations with Hibernia Foods, who sponsored last year's 2,000 Guineas. Entenmann's is an American cake brand for which Hibernia have acquired the exclusive rights in Europe.

Airlie and Coolmore Studs, the previous sponsors of the 1,000 Guineas, will continue to sponsor other valuable races at the Curragh.
