TIPPERARY racecourse celebrates its 80th anniversary tomorrow with a parade of some Cheltenham heroes including Gold Cup winner Imperial Call. There are prizes for tickets to next year's National Hunt Festival and patrons will be able to see the Arc on television.
Featured is the Group Three Cool more Stud Concorde Stakes which has attracted the remarkable Idris, who if a little out of her depth in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last time out ran on well to finish three and a half lengths adrift of Timarida.
This seven furlongs is probably below her best but she is tough and most consistent. Wizard King has won at the Curragh and Fairyhouse and Burden Of Proof got no run when a close up third behind Wandering Thoughts at the Curragh last time out. The placings could well be reversed but at his best Wizard King would be a danger to Idris.
Hotel Minella, who slipped on landing over the first and unseated his rider when at prohibitive odds to make a winning reappearance and a first success over fences, has a chance to recover losses in the Junction Beginners Chase but I prefer the Aidan O'Brien trained Rockfield Native who bypassed an easy Listowel engagement.
Listowel winner Father Rector may defy a penalty in the Premier County Publicans Handicap Hurdle.
