Equestrian:Ireland are back in the hunt for promotion to the Samsung Super League after extending their lead in the second-division table with a nail-biting victory in the Polish round at Poznan yesterday afternoon, reports Grania Willis.

Level-pegging with the Danes on a clean sheet at the break, the Irish lads held their nerve when just eight of the 14 starting teams got the call-back for the second round. Cian O'Connor produced an immaculate double clear with the talented Complete while Ryan Crumley on Baltimore and Commandant Gerry Flynn and the grey Mo Chroi both collected four faults.

When the Danes finished with the same tally the teams were still inseparable but in the jump-off against the clock O'Connor's four faults in 46.84 seconds was enough for victory.
