Republic of Ireland 1, Czech Republic 2U-17 INTERNATIONAL: Despite taking a deserved first- half lead, Ireland lost last night's under-17 international at blustery Belfield Park.

Ireland went ahead after 14 minutes when Stephen O'Mahony fed Karl Bermingham who chipped the Czech goalkeeper from 10 yards. But Michal Papoulous equalised (59 minutes) before a Paddy Flynn own goal (64 minutes) gave the Czechs victory.
