"We all agree, Tesco is better than Harrods," sang Wimbledon's travelling fans (Bill and Colin) at Craven Cottage yesterday when their team took on Mohammed Al Fayed's Fulham in the FA Cup. Sadly the song proved to be the highpoint of Wimbledon's afternoon, during which they were made to look decidedly non-leagueish, losing 3-0 to their first division opponents.

The second of the goals came from Limerick-born Steve Finnan (23) who usually makes his living playing at full back or on the wing but Fulham manager Paul Bracewell opted to give him a debut "in the hole", as they say, behind the front two against Wimbledon, much to Finnan's surprise. And it worked a treat - he may even find himself back in the hole for Wednesday's League Cup quarterfinal against Leicester. Heady days for the Republic of Ireland B international.
