Jamie Osborne, Dean Gallagher and Leighton Aspell will have their suspensions from riding lifted at a meeting today, the Jockey Club confirmed yesterday afternoon.

A letter from Jockey Club executive director Christopher Foster to Michael Caulfield, secretary to the Jockeys' Association, said: "In the past six days, the Jockey Club has taken soundings within the industry in order to better assess the risk to public confidence in the integrity of horseracing if the jockeys are permitted to ride whilst the police investigation continues.

"The Licensing Committee has assessed the position again in the light of these soundings, which have been undertaken as speedily as possible, and as a result will be able to confirm tomorrow that it no longer considers that it is necessary to argue before the Licensing Committee against any continuation of the suspension."

Caulfield is still far from happy despite yesterday's news and is hoping the meeting will shed some light on the events of the past seven days.

He said: "Not only has it been a difficult week for the jockeys, but also highly confusing. The behaviour of the Jockey Club has been curious to say the least and we look forward to meeting with them tomorrow.

"It will be a unique feeling to go to the Jockey Club already knowing the result."
