AIRTRICITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Sligo Rovers 2 Bray Wanderers 1:ALAN KEANE saved Sligo's blushes with a goal from the penalty spot a minute from time at the Showgrounds last night.
Keane made no mistake after substitute Eoin Doyle was brought down in the box.
Gary Dempsey put Bray ahead from a free kick in the 69th minute but a Matthew Blinkhorn header levelled matters seven minutes later.
Romuald Boco broke clear for Sligo at the start of the first half as the home side set their sights on an early goal. Solid defending by Adam Mitchell halted another good Sligo move involving Boco in the fifth minute.
A clever crossing ball by Dean Zambrra on eight minutes unhinged the Sligo defence but the danger was cleared and two minutes later John Gibson came off his line quickly to gather as Ian Tuohy bore down on the Rovers goal.
Good defending by the visitors, with Matt Gregg in fine form between the posts, kept Sligo at bay during the opening 45 minutes. Bray came closest to breaking the deadlock after 36 minutes when a shot by Zambrra from Tuohy’s flick flew narrowly wide.
