Ireland's Justin Kehoe maintained his place at the top of the leaderboard in the men's individual event at the World Universities Championships at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Thailand with a third round 71 for a total of 207

Kehoe's nine-under-par total is just one shot ahead of Martin Rominger of Switzerland who had the best round, a 66, on a day when no one else broke 70.

Riki Ikeda of Japan, in third place on 211, is four shots ahead of Britain's Geoff Harris, who had a 73.

Mark O'Sullivan added a 73 yesterday to help Ireland into second place in the team event. Japan are in the lead with 643, three shots ahead of Ireland (646). Switzerland are next on 651.

In the women's event Lynn Kenny (University of Stirling) added a third-round of 77 for a total of 229, but slipped to fourth place.

Scoring was higher overall in the third round, and the tournament leader, Yu Pei-Lin from Chinese Taipei, also returned a 77 to hold on to the the lead with a total of 221.

Allison Fouch of the United States, who had a 75, is two behind the leader, on 223, and Kyoko Furuya (Japan) who returned a 76, is just one stroke ahead of Kenny on 228.

Clare Queen (University of Strathclyde) had a 85 and holds 17th place with a total of 241.

In the team event, Taipei lead with a total of 450. Japan are six strokes adrift, and the United States (466) has just squeezed ahead of Britain, who stand on 468.
