6. Charlie McCarthy (Gneeveguilla) Won under-21 All-Ireland in 1995 and did move on to the seniors and won a Munster medal in 1996. A bad injury effectively ended his career although he resumed playing with East Kerry. Currently in Australia.

7. Fergus O'Connor (John Mitchels). Career never progressed after minor success. A few runs with the juniors.

8. Denis Dwyer (Waterville). Won under-21 All-Irelands in 1995 and '96 and progressed to the seniors and won a senior All-Ireland in 1997. The only player from this team with a chance of starting next Sunday.

9. Gene O'Keeffe (Ballymacelligot). Failed to progress further than a few matches for the juniors but still playing club football

10. Jack Ferriter (Dingle). Man of the match in the minor final and captain of the team. Won All-Ireland under-21 medals in 1995 and '96, Sigerson medals with IT Tralee in 1998 and '99 and did play senior a number matches but a troublesome shoulder injury has undermined his career at the top.

12. Gerry Lynch (Austin Stacks). Regarded as having immense promise by the minor management, he faded out of football completely and isn't even playing at club level.

13. James O'Shea (Filemore). Although not very big, he was one of the star corner forwards on the team, he went on to win an under-21 All-Ireland in 1996. 15. Gerry Murphy (Rathmore). Another highly-regarded talent that never came to fruition. On the senior panel last year, he started against Tipperary and scored the notorious 'goal' after the ball was shown to have come back into play off a stanchion.

17. Michael Francis Russell (Laune Rangers). Then only 16, he came on as a substitute in the final. Went on to win a host of All-Ireland medals: colleges with IS Killorglin, club with Laune and under-21 in 1996 and '98. This season's best Kerry forward.
