Division Two B/Louth 0-20 Sligo 2-6: Louth made it three wins from three in the league in sunny Dundalk yesterday, as Sligo's woes showed no signs of letting up.

The home side were full value for their victory and had the game wrapped up by half-time.

Some flowing football and a number of fine scores saw Louth race into a 0-9 to 0-0 lead after just 20 minutes.

Sligo didn't respond with their first point until the 22nd minute and they trailed by eight at the break - 0-10 to 0-2.

Louth pressed on after the interval. JP Rooney put them further ahead before Seán Davey and Tony Taylor gave Sligo some glimmer of hope.

However, all the good football was being played by the men in red and only for some wayward shooting the final scoreline might have been a whole lot more embarrassing for Sligo.

Louth rediscovered their scoring touch as the game moved into the final quarter. John and Trevor O'Brien each grabbed a point and Brian White soon added another.

A quick free led to Sligo's first goal with 10 minutes left on the clock, but Louth steadied the ship with three more points in as many minutes. Seán Davey notched another goal for the visitors shortly before the end, but Shane Thornton had the last say for Louth with a late point.
