Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale last night dropped the clearest hint that caretaker boss David O'Leary is in line for the vacant Elland Road manager's seat, despite his prolonged attempt to get Leicester's Martin O'Neill into the post.
"It's my belief that if there was going to be any contact from Leicester, that we could talk to Martin, it would have happened by now.
"We always knew that if it hadn't happened by today then we would resolve it speedily in another manner.
"I aim to discuss it with my colleagues, but it doesn't do any harm when you see performances like that with people in situ. Perhaps that makes decisions even easier."
Italian international Dino Baggio claimed he had been hit by a knife during Parma's 1-1 UEFA Cup draw with Wisla Krakow in Poland last night.
"I felt something hit me on the head, then I saw a knife on the ground and thought it had touched me," said Baggio.
"I didn't want to believe it - it seemed impossible."
The midfielder carried on playing after the second-half incident but had five stitches in the wound after the match.
