GOLF/USPGA Tour: An eagle and five birdies helped Justin Leonard to the top of the leaderboard at the halfway mark of the Memorial Tournament last night.

The Texan leads Harrison Frazer, who also carded a seven-under round yesterday, by one shot. Bob Tway, Stewart Cink and Vijay Singh are a further shot behind.

Defending champion Tiger Woods shot a two-under 70 to get back to even par through 36 holes and is under the projected two-over cut line.

Jack Nicklaus has made his first Tour cut in two years.
