The Dublin county semi-final between Kilmacud Crokes and UCD is set to be refixed despite Kilmacud's removal from the championship for failure to fulfil the original fixture last Thursday.
UCD offered the refixture after disagreement about the game being played on a weekday prompted Kilmacud to withdraw.
The club's Martin Glynn said, "We have been offered a refixture and I think it suits everyone to go down that road."
Dublin are under pressure to conclude the championship because of the stipulation its representatives must be ready for the provincial championship by November 5th - a deadline the Leinster Council have already extended by a week.
"The GAC, who make the fixtures, seem to be happy to go along with this," said Glynn, "if we agree and forgo the right to appeal the decision to expel us, which could take another couple of weeks."
The date being floated for the refixed semi-finals (including Na Fianna versus St Vincent's after Oliver Plunketts' objection to their quarter-final defeat was rejected on Tuesday night) is October 27th, which would have the county final the following weekend in time for the Leinster championship on November 12th.
There was no comment from the county board but the fixture would have to be finalised today, the expiry date for Kilmacud's appeal of the expulsion decision.
