Limerick SHC semi-finals: Na Piarsaigh 4-16 Emmetts 2-20:DAVID Breen gave a superb performance when he scored 2-3 on the way to helping Na Piarsaigh reach the final.

Na Piarsaigh had the opening two points but midway through the half Emmetts led by 1-5 to 0-4, with Donie Reale getting the goal.

The eventual winners excelled just before the the break to lead by 2-10 to 1-10. Kevin Downes, after 24 minutes, and Breen, after 29, got the goals and when Breen clattered in his second goal two minutes into the second half it was a lead they never surrendered.

Kevin Ryan’s goal five minutes later had the city side 4-12 to 1-13 clear. It was point for point for the next 15 minutes before Paul Neenan scored a consolation goal for Emmetts.

Adare 1-14 Murroe-Boher 1-10:ADARE, seeking their third championship in a row, got a fright but survived thanks to a good start and then a strong finish.

The champions got off to the ideal start when Donnacha Sheehan scored a goal after two minutes.

Declan Hannon, Liam Costelloe and Sheehan all had points before Kevin Tobin pointed a Murroe-Boher free for his side’s first score after 10 minutes

Adare led 1-7 to 0-6 at the interval and that lead was increased to 1-9 to 0-7 before Seán Tobin scored a goal for Murroe 11 minutes into the second half.

Former county player Conor Fitzgerald was introduced when the sides were level, 1-10 each, and he scored two points and Hannon two more to seal victory.
