Ireland, thanks to two penalties from outhalf David McAllister (Terenure College) defeated France in a schools international at Galway Sportsground on Saturday.
The French, who were playing Ireland for the first time in Ireland at this level, dominated the early exchanges. However, Ireland went in front after 16 minutes from a McAllister penalty. France levelled matters on 20 minutes with an equalising penalty from centre, Benoit Baby.
McAllister secured victory when he was on target with a 68th minute penalty.
