There was major disappointment for Sonja McGinn at the French Open Badminton Championships in Paris yesterday as she failed to win through to the singles quarterfinals. The Irish number one started well, beating Danish qualifier Elizabeth Cann, in the first round 11-5 11-5, but lost in the second round to Heidi Dossing-Eiken 3-11 9-11.
