Colin Montgomerie's final drive at the US Open has, ironically, been voted the European Tour Shot of the Month award for June.
The 43-year-old Scot was in contention for his first major as he found a perfect position on the fairway of his 72nd hole at Winged Foot.
However, he subsequently missed the green with his seven-iron approach and carded a double-bogey six when a par would have been enough to win the title, which went to Geoff Ogilvy.
As well as the RBS Shot of the Month trophy Montgomerie receives a £1,000 cheque to donate to charity.
Second was John Bickerton's exquisite second to the 443-yard 12th hole which set up a birdie and victory in the French Open, with Peter Hedblom's hole in one at the 234- yard third during the third round of the US Open voted third best.
