Champions League Final: The fitness of striker Fernando Morientes is the only lingering concern for Monaco before the French side face Porto in tonight's Champions League final.
Morientes has been inspirational in Monaco's run to their first European Cup final, his nine goals since a loan move from Real Madrid making him the competition's top scorer.
Three times a Champions League winner with Real, the Spaniard gave his side a scare when he sprained his right ankle against Stades Rennes 10 days ago.
He returned to help Monaco beat Girondins Bordeaux 3-1 in their last league game of the season but was taken off early in the second half, presumably as a precaution.
Porto are bidding for a second European Cup win, 17 years after winning the competition for the first time. A final between two such middle-ranking clubs would have been difficult to imagine at the start of the season.
"We're not going to take it too seriously," midfielder Ludovic Giuly said before the Monaco squad left for Germany. "We're just going to have some fun together and try to gear up peacefully."
Monaco coach Didier Deschamps could complete his own hat-trick of Champions League victories, after winning the competition twice as a player with Olympique Marseille and Juventus.
Porto have no injury worries ahead of the game and manager Jose Mourinho should be able to field his first-choice line-up, with Derlei Silva and Benni McCarthy leading the attack, backed by Brazilian-born Portugal playmaker Deco Souza, whom the coach singled out for mention.
"I know Deco's ability and what he can do for us," said Mourinho of the 26-year-old midfielder. "The Monaco coach will be trying to find ways to block him, while I find a way for him to play to his full potential.
"I want my team to be a happy team and to maintain our identity. We like to have the ball and when we don't have it we go and look for it. But I'm not saying I'll have an open door policy and try to win 5-4," he concluded.
Victory would make Porto the first side to win the UEFA Cup and European Cup in successive seasons since Liverpool in 1977.
