FORMER DERRY City striker Sammy Morrow faces the prospect of a ban with current club Coleraine after being charged with betting on football matches, including a number of League of Ireland games in which he was involved.

The 25-year-old, who signed for the Irish League club after leaving the Brandywell in the wake of Derry City’s well-documented financial and administrative problems, is reported to have admitted to the offences which relate to a small but significant number of games.

Fifa now deals with such cases and the organisation is expected to make a ruling in relation to Morrow in the coming days.
