Mayo ... 1-17 Roscommon ... 0-8 Holders Mayo put 1-4 past Roscommon in a lucrative seven-minute spell in the second half of this Connacht under-21 football championship semi-final at McHale Park, Castlebar, last night.The goal has to go down to a goal-keeping error which was punished by Conor Mortimer in the 43rd minute.
Mayo were four points clear at an early stage but an excellent recovery from Roscommon had them level before Mortimer gave Mayo the lead at half-time (0-6 to 0-5). Then, after it was 0-7 each five minutes into the second half, Mayo scored at will.
