RUGBY/News: Geordan Murphy'a medial ligament injury sustained after seven minutes against England is likely to take at least a month to heal. It was feared the Irish winger would miss the entire season but that has been revised down.
Rob Henderson, who replaced Murphy and who did not reappear for the second half at Twickenham, has a groin injury which is likely to take up to four weeks to heal while Munster second row Paul O'Connell and Leinster winger/centre Shane Horgan are back from injury and included in the extended squad.
The panel will train in Skerries on Thursday with the final squad to face Scotland on March 2nd at Lansdowne Road likely to be decided nearer to the weekend.
The England captain Martin Johnson, meanwhile, has urged the Rugby Football Union's disciplinary panel to show consistency when he appears before them tomorrow.
The Leicester lock was sin-binned for punching Saracens hooker Robbie Russell in a recent Zurich Premiership clash. However, the incident was caught on camera and if the RFU panel decide a ban, on top of the original sin-binning, would be appropriate, Johnson could miss England's crucial Six Nations clash with France in Paris. Johnson said he was confident that, while he claimed the press had gone "overboard" on the incident, the panel would take the evidence at face value.
