The young golfers of Dublin have been given an added incentive with the announcement of the Tom Craddock Golf Scholarship by the Cobra Golf Academy and St Margaret's golf club.
The late Tom Craddock was always a champion of the junior players and was responsible for introducing Philip Walton to the game. Now, in honour of one of Ireland's great ambassadors for the game, David Louys Moroney, the Academy Director, is looking for the best up-and-coming players - one male and one female - under the age of 20. The two winners can enjoy the best facilities at St Margaret's.
On offer to the two successful applicants will be unlimited lessons with the head teaching professional of the Cobra Golf Academy. They will have unlimited golf on the championship golf course and will be supplied with Cobra equipment during 1999. They will also be supplied with golf apparel from St Margaret's and will be given a supply of balls/gloves for the coming season.
Both winning applicants will be placed on a fitness and diet programme by the St Margaret's fitness expert Brian Jennings.
