Nineacres will have to wait for another day to break the record for handicap wins in a season after finishing unplaced in the Eddie Rabbitt Handicap at Southwell yesterday.

Milton Bradley's charge, who was bidding for his 10th victory in handicap company in 2000, was among the back-markers in the six-furlong contest after failing to overcome his draw in stall 16 of 16.

The nine-year-old is engaged at Wolverhampton tomorrow but will miss that in favour of a race at Southwell next month.

The race was won by the David Barron-trained Blakeset.
