Bray Wanderers v Cork City (7.45)

Bray Wanderers v Cork City (7.45)

Pat Devlin's side haven't lost at home in almost a year and the draw at Turner's Cross at virtually the same stage last season was one of the early indications that the club was going to prove much more formidable than on previous attempts to survive in the top flight.

For this evening's game they have Eddie Van Boxtel available again after a long lay-off. Eddie Gormley and Jody Lynch have both shaken off knee injuries and may well start but Davey Williamson and Dave Campbell are still injured. Marlon James is back at home in St Vincent and unavailable for the next few weeks at least.

City have Alan Bennett and Alan Carey back in the squad after the pair were allowed to take late holidays but Tony Tynan and Alan Carey are away with the Irish team at the World Student Games. John Caulfield is fit again after some back trouble while Anthony Buckley is training again but still a few weeks off a return.

St Patrick's Ath v Derry City (7.45)

The hosts may be unchanged from the side that started so strongly against Shelbourne last week although it remains to be seen whether Pat Dolan opts to shuffle his pack up front again after his decision to reunite Liam Kelly and Ger McCarthy last week failed to yield the goals that his team's early dominance of the game should have.

City are approaching full strength with Padraig Moran set to make his competitive debut for the club and Liam Coyle looking fit enough to make his first league start of the season.Coyle has recovered from the Achilles problem that has been troubling his since before the first game of the new campaign. Bohemians v UCD (7.45)

The champions will be in fairly confident mood as they welcome a side to Dalymount they beat three times in the league last year.

Pete Mahon has Stephen Caffrey and Dave Hill back from the flu and a groin injury respectively but Paul Byrne is out for the next six weeks after picking up a nasty leg injury in Tuesday's friendly game against the University of Memphis. That means Dave Morrison will start although Mahon insists he may well have in any case having performed well in the 1-0 defeat of Cork City last week.

UCD have Tony McDonnell back after a groin injury but his place in the starting line-up is not guaranteed after solid performances by Richie Purdy and Robert McAuley last time out. Clive Delaney serves the third match of a three-match suspension.
