LEINSTER COLLEGES SH A LEAGUE RD TWO: St Brendan's 2-14 Kilkenny CBS 1-15A SUPERB 11-point haul from Emmet Nolan saw St Brendan's, Birr, pick up a valuable brace of points on home ground yesterday.
Nolan was inspirational from start to finish as Birr came from behind to stun the Kilkenny students. Kilkenny CBS had control of the game in the opening stages of the second half, but a hard-fought final 25 minutes saw the Birr school prevail.
Kilkenny CBS rallied in the second half through the impressive Kevin Kenny and a 38th-minute goal from Robbie Fitzgerald. Birr hit back straight away with an opportunist goal from Conor Doughan and late points from man-of-the-match Nolan and Seán T O’Connor sealed the victory.
