Leinster MHC Quarter-finals - Westmeath 1-14 Offaly 0-9:WESTMEATH emerged as comprehensive winners in the quarter-final in Tullamore on Saturday.
Offaly’s shortcomings were manifested by their paltry tally of just a single point from play over the hour. They led early on but Westmeath took control with a 13th-minute goal from Paul Fennell and led 1-6 to 0-5 at the break.
In the second half Westmeath were complete masters and the home side never threatened a comeback. Four quick points put Westmeath out of sight and the visitors looked assured of advancing to the semi-finals from a long way out.
