Majorca Classic: David Park of Wales was leading the Turespana Majorca Classic by a stroke on six under par when play was abandoned yesterday afternoon because of thunderstorms. Half the field will have to complete their second rounds this morning.
Overnight leader Damien McGrane was in joint second on five under, having gone to the turn in one over par after opening with eight straight pars before bogeying the ninth. He was playing the 10th when the siren went.
Park carded a second round six-under-par 64 to lead in the clubhouse on six-under-par 134.
McGrane was joined on five under by Dutchman Maarten Lafeber, who was three under for his 13 holes yesterday.
Jose Maria Olazabal double-bogeyed the short 13th just before the suspension to drop back to four-under and a share of fourth place, while tournament favourite Lee Westwood was seven strokes off the pace after 13 holes.
Clubhouse leader Park gave himself a chance of a first win for over four years as he repeated McGrane's 64 feat of the previous day.
Preferred-lies are in operation after earlier heavy rain, so the 64 is unofficial, but that did not stop Park being delighted at collecting seven birdies, four in the first six holes.
