Pembroke go all out for victory

MEN'S HOCKEY: Glenanne may have to concede victory to Pembroke Wanderers in the Leinster Senior League at St Mark's tomorrow, in what is Pembroke's last chance to hold onto their title. Although they would still depend on Glenanne dropping a point in one of their last three matches, the defending champions will be determined to push their rivals all the way.

With a full-strength side, Pembroke could well have the impetus to repeat their win of the Top Four final at the the start of the season - Glenanne's only defeat.

A further step in the rejuvenation of hockey in Limerick sees Villiers School stage the youth interprovincial championships this weekend on their new astroturf pitch. Leinster will be favourites to win the under-18 laurels as the bulk of the squad is made up of players from St Andrew's and Wesley, who contested the all-Ireland schools final.

Munster, with virtually an all-Ashton side, will offer sturdy resistance while Tim Cockram of Lisnagarvey leads Ulster's bid for honours.
