Sweden's Carl Pettersson made a stunning start at the latest FedEx Cup event, reaching five-under to lie one behind Stewart Cink.

Pettersson, who won in Greensboro just two weeks ago, picked up five birdies in his opening 12 holes to give Faldo another headache before he names his two picks on Sunday evening.

Casey was two-under after 15 while Poulter was a shot further back with one to play. Padraig Harrington, bidding to bounce back in the series after last weekend's missed cut , was level par after 12 holes.
