Schools' Rugby/Vinny Murray Cup:High School left-wing Robbie Rath's second try, one minute after the break, was the turning point in High School's 27-6 defeat of Mount Temple in the Leinster Schools' Section B Vinny Murray Senior Cup quarter-final at the Iveagh Grounds yesterday.

It was Temple who settled quicker with centre Jason Serles kicking two penalties to sandwich Rath's first try before blindside Darragh Keller struck just before the interval. Rath's second score was a sucker punch and it was followed by further tries from centre Nigel Kinlan and replacement Conor O'Donnell.

CUS fullback Shane McGrath provided that something special to break Newpark Comprehensive's hearts with two runs that led to tries for outhalf Eoin Stanley and wing Dean Rock in a 10-7 win at Kilternan.

Newpark showed tremendous character to take these two knocks and the loss of their captain, Conor Mills, to a knee injury and strike back with a late try from secondrow Emmet O'Mahony, converted by replacement Stephen O'Leary.
