Hugh Hanley won't forget his recent trip to Youghal golf club. The young Grange golf club one-handicapper set a new course record of eight-under-par 62, but still finished second in the singles competition in Open Week. He covered the first nine in three-under-par 32, and birdies on 10, 11 and 12 took him to six under par; two more at the 14th and 16th gave him a chance of

coming home in 29. However, two pars at 17 and 18 saw the Grange senior cup player covered the back nine in 30. However, Hanley's nett 61 saw him pushed into second place by local player MJ Murphy, who had a 61 off 15 to win on the last six.
