Portsmouth are running the rule over former Brazil winger Denilson. The 28-year-old, a free agent after leaving Bordeaux during the summer, is on trial at the club. Denilson, who was capped 61 times by Brazil and has a 2002 World Cup-winners' medal, joined Real Betis for a then-world record £22million from Sao Paulo in 1998.
Charlton's Djimi Traore fractured his left leg during the defeat at Chelsea. The former Liverpool player (26) has been given a protective boot as he recovers from the hairline fracture.
Diego Tristan has opted to stay in Spain with Real Mallorca rather than move to the Premiership. Bolton were keen on the Spain international, who was released by Deportivo La Coruna recently. However, Mallorca pipped them in the race to snap up the 30-year-old.
Manchester United's Park Ji-sung will be out of action for three months with ankle ligament damage. United hoped the South Korean, who was injured in training on Sunday, would only be a minor injury. Park went for scans and it has been confirmed he suffered ligament damage.
The 25-year-old will now undergo an operation that is likely to keep the former PSV Eindhoven winger on the sidelines for at least three months.
