- A late goal from Craig Doyle gave Carlow a 1-13 to 2-5 win over Kerry at Dr Cullen Park in a NHL Division Two clash on Saturday. The home side had to survive a late Kerry rally which yielded a brace of Michael Conway goals. Carlow, helped by the accuracy of Rory Dunbar, led 0-8 to 0-4 at the break.
- Wicklow produced a dramatic comeback to pip Longford 1-11 to 2-6 in the Leinster Under-21 football championship first-round clash at Pearse Park on Saturday.
Goals by Philip Dobson and Pádraig Gill gave Longford a 2-3 to 1-3 interval lead after Darren Hayden had drawn first blood for Wicklow.
Wicklow snatched victory with late points from Anthony McLaughlin, Paul Cunningham and Cathal McNicholas.
- Kildare cruised to a 0-17 to 0-4 victory over outclassed Wexford in a Leinster Under-21 clash at Bunclody on Saturday. Eoghan O’Flaherty and Ciarán Creavin led the scoring honours for Kildare who led 0-8 to 0-3 at the interval.
