Rugby: Jerry Flannery is likely to be out of action for at least four weeks after a scan showed a tear to his calf muscle sustained in the dying moments of the Magners League win over Ulster last weekend.
Munster Rugby today said the injury could keep him out for up to six weeks, meaning he is certain to miss the first two games on the Six Nations, against Italy in Rome and France in Dublin.
Life goes on for Munster, of course, and James Coughlan makes a return to the squad ahead of their meeting with Glasgow Warriors at Musgrave Park on Saturday (7.30pm).
A cheekbone injury had threatened his participation but after examination it was found to be less serious than first feared.
The team will be announced at midday on Friday.
