Rugby:Welsh coach Warren Gatland has delayed the naming of his Wales team to face Ireland because of injury concerns to Rhys Priestland and Dan Lydiate.

Gatland has given outhalf, Priestland (knee) and blindside flanker Lydiate (ankle) until Friday to prove their fitness, when he is then expected to name the starting team to face Ireland.

Six Nations 2008 Grand Slam skipper Ryan Jones is in line to deputise for Lydiate, but Gatland must also decide whether to start with James Hook or recalled veteran Stephen Jones in the crucial role of playmaker if Priestland fails to pass a fitness test.

Scrum-half Mike Phillips was replaced after 63 minutes of Bayonne’s 50-10 capitulation at Toulon, for whom Jonny Wilkinson piled up 25 points by converting all five of their tries and landing five penalties.
