O'Driscoll relinquishes Leinster captaincy

Brian O'Driscoll has stepped down as Leinster captain and will be replaced by lock Leo Cullen for the upcoming season

Brian O'Driscoll has stepped down as Leinster captain and will be replaced by lock Leo Cullen for the upcoming season. The centre captained Leinster for three years and led the province to a Magners League title last season.

Cullen, who captained the side on seven occasions last season, was the obvious replacement.

In two spells at the club between 2003 and 2008 Cullen has featured in 102 games and worn the captain's armband in 17 of those.

Shane Jennings and Chris Whitaker have been named as vice-captains.
