St Mary's College 23 Young Munster 19:Substitute Mark Sexton scored two second-half tries as St Mary's bridged a gap of 12 years to win the Ulster Bank Division 1A title with a brilliant comeback victory over Young Munster at Templeville Road.
The big centre, a brother of Ireland and Leinster outhalf Jonny, raced through a gap in the 52nd minute to score his side’s first try before latching on to scrumhalf Matt D’Arcy’s short pass close to the line to crash over for the winning score in the 78th minute.
It was a vital score in the end after Clontarf came back from behind to beat Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium, with their match ending before the game in Templeville Road.
Gavin Dunne converted Sexton’s late try to leave four points between the sides as they wound the clock down to secure the title.
Young Munster had led the way for most of the match despite losing left winder Darragh O’Neill for a tip tackle.
Hooker Ger Slattery went over for their first-half try following a maul off a lineout, while Willie Staunton added two penalties and a conversion as the Limerick side led 13-3 at the break.
