Saudi's Obeid Al-Dossari headed home five minutes later for the equalizer; Abdallah Al-Waked found the net in the 17th minute and Al-Dossari had his second in the 19th minute.

Uruguay upped the tempo after the interval and got a goal back in the 59th minute when Fabian O'Neil made the most of lack of concentration by the Saudi goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Khojali to score from a free kick.
