A GREAT display of courage and determination helped Seir Kieran to retain their Offaly hurling title in Birr yesterday.

With five minutes left, just two points separated the sides, after Seir Kieran were rocked by a Hubert Rigney goal. But Seir Kieran held their nerve to clinch their third Sean Robbins trophy.

Boosted by a gale force wind, Seir Kieran dictated matters in the first half and led by 0-10 to 0-3 at the interval. Rynagh's battled back well, Rigney's goal setting up a dramatic finale.
