Skerries Town 1 Monaghan United 0Leinster Senior League side Skerries Town caused a major upset in the FAI Cup yesterday when they defeated first division side Monaghan United at Park Lane.
On 56 minutes Skerries took the lead when Ed Doherty forced the ball home from close range after Brendan Moore flicked on a Neil Gallagher cross. Monaghan's Alan Byrne headed wide from five yards on 58 minutes and on 73 minutes Stephen Arkins fired wide. Alan King almost equalised 13 minutes from time.
