Irish 400m and 100m hurdles record holder Susan Smith Walsh, who is now living in Atlanta, Georgia has been inducted into the Brown University Hall of Fame. The Waterford runner, who had a difficult season last year, but who has been Ireland's outstanding hurdler since the Olympic games in Atlanta, received the university honour for her contribution to college athletics.

Smith-Walsh, who is a full-time athlete is now concentrating on the Olympic games in Australia in September. The award ceremony took place last November.
