Chelseaare considering an appeal to the English FA after receiving the same £100,000 fine as Arsenalfor their part in the brawl which erupted towards the end of the League Cup final.

The FA's disciplinary commission yesterday described the incident as "serious, unacceptable and damaging to the image of the game" and ruled that "Arsenal players had been marginally more involved but that Chelsea FC had past proven cases in recent years regarding the general behaviour of their players where warnings had been issued".

The clubs have 14 days to decide whether to appeal.
